Manchester City made sure of third place in the Premier League when they romped to a 5-0 win at Watford on Sunday to ensure a Champions League berth for next season. City were already 4-0 up at the break at Vicarage Road and finish the season with 78 points, ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal and behind Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Kompany opened the scoring with a fourth-minute header from a corner, followed by Sergio Aguero finishing off a counter attack set up by Kevin de Bruyne in the 23rd minute....

City slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Tuesday, a fourth defeat in nine top-flight matches, although a 1-1 draw for leaders Liverpool at home to Leicester City 24 hours later limited the damage. Victory over Arsenal on Sunday will move the champions to within two points of Jurgen Klopp’s men and back above Tottenham, with Liverpool in action on Monday at West Ham. Johnny Duncan, aged 25, suffered two stab wounds to the chest, one to the stomach and a cut to the left arm after an altercation with another driver in Logan, Australia, the police have said. Duncan’s partner Tiani Grant-Williams and the couple’s 18-month old daughter was present during the altercation on Tuesday afternoon, she told 7 News Australia. She said a nurse explained to her that her partner was lucky to be alive as the stabbing could have been significantly worse....

According to the Daily Record, offshore worker Jack Carson, 22, came across the snake on Wednesday while walking towards Drumry train station in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, near Glasgow, having initially mistaken it for a tree branch. Carson posted footage of the intimidating reptile to Twitter under the handle @_JC1971.
