Manchester United extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they beat Southampton 3-2 at Old Trafford.
Yan Valery gave Southampton the lead in the 26th minute, which was cancelled by Andreas Pereira eight minutes after the half-time break. The Red Devils got in front through Romelu Lukaku in the 59th minute but the Saints fought back to make it 2-2 through James Ward-Prowse’s spectacular free-kick in the 75th minute.
However, just when it was looking certain that United will lose valuable points from the game, Romelu Lukaku stood up to the occasion and found the back of the net in the 88th minute to secure all three points for his team,
Manchester United moved to the fourth position in the Premier League table with this victory and are now in the driving seat to qualify for the Champions League next season, with just nine games left to play.

Speaking to journalists after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted that his team showed character against Southampton, and also revealed that the Red Devils’ dressing room is bouncing at the moment.

After a disappointing 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie against Paris St. Germain, Manchester United will be looking forward to turning the tie around when they face the Parisians for the second leg at the Le Parc des Princes on March 7.
